AI is against extradition of Ingush resident from Egypt
In the near future, Ibragim Mankiev, a resident of Ingushetia, can be extradited to Russia, where he can face torture and other forms of inhuman treatment. As reported by the Amnesty International (AI), he is now in custody in Egypt without the right of communication.
As "Caucasian Knot" reported, Ibragim Mankiev, together with the wife, was detained on November 10 after they visited the Russian embassy in Egypt, where they addressed for changing their passports.
On available data, the Russian authorities have already sent a request about extradition of Ibragim Mankiev.
The Amnesty International believes that in case of Ibragim Mankiev's return to Russia, he is under threat of unfair trial, torture and other forms of inhuman treatment with the aim to knock out "confessional evidences."
The international organization is urging the public to call Egyptian authorities not to extradite Ibragim Mankiev to Russia, inform about his whereabouts and allow him to choose and address an advocate, and to meet his relatives and get the required medical aid.
