Vladimir Ustinov: in 2009, count of terror acts in SFD is much higher

In 2009, the number of crimes, which can be regarded as terror acts, committed in the south of Russia, went up by almost one third as compared with 2008; thus, during 11 months of this year, 786 such crimes were committed. This was stated on December 22 by Vladimir Ustinov, Plenipotentiary of Russian President for the South federal District (SFD).

According to his story, in 2009, militants have undertaken 786 attacks. The count of perished and wounded servicemen, law enforcers and civilians made 1263 persons against 914 persons in 2008. Militants are most active in Ingushetia, Dagestan and Chechen Republic.

The "Gazeta.Ru" adds that last year 576 terror acts were committed in the SFD.

According to Mr Ustinov, those who had unleashed the terror war against Russia place their stake on the young generation - Northern Caucasus  has formed a whole layer of young people, hostile even to century-old traditions of their own nations.

Besides, according to his story, the fire is additionally kindled by those who demand creating a new subject of the Federation, uniting the Adygs, Circassians, Kabardians, Abasins and Shapsugs. The situation is aggravated by unemployment - almost 600,000 all over the SFD.
