Movsisyan: Armenia is interested to export energy to Turkey
In the near future, should the Armenian-Turkish border get opened, Armenia will be able to export electric power to Turkey. Armenia is interested in this export to the neighbour, where the energy deficit is high. This was stated by Armen Movsisyan, Minister for Power and Natural Resources of Armenia.
According to the Minister, Turkey, being the largest electricity consumer in the region, is an attractive market for selling Armenia-generated electricity. "We have no technical or power problems in the issue exporting electricity to Turkey. The problem is exclusively political. We are ready to start today, thus, Turkey has the floor. In case of its consent, Armenia could start its electricity exports next April of next year," said Armen Movsisyan.
"Construction of the railway Kars-Akhalkalaki-Baku suspended", "Armenian leader threatens with "adequate answer" to Turkey's protraction in ratifying protocols", "In Azerbaijan, protest action in front of Turkish embassy dispersed".
