In Sochi, Imereti residents face electricity cut-off
On December 25 at 1045 p.m. Moscow time, three thousand residents of the Imereti Bay and "Rossiya" State Farm, Adler District of Sochi, where Olympic objects are built, are again without electricity.
Today by midnight, residents went out into the streets. They demanded from the authorities "to stop the mockeries, which started in May this year." Otherwise, they threaten to block the highway. The protesters emphasize that in spite of their cut-offs, electricity is permanently supplied to the would-be Olympic objects and "accompanying asphalt and concrete plants, which work with violation of all ecological and sanitary norms."
Yulia Schuchenkova, a resident of the Imereti Lowland, said that her "family has hardly survived through this terrible night." Her younger 4-month-old child had high temperature, but the woman could not call an ambulance - the battery of her mobile phone failed, and she could not charge it because of electricity absence.
Svetlana Berestenyova, a member of the board of the fellowship named "Psou", has emphasized that residents had repeatedly demanded from the authorities to find the reason of permanent electricity cut-offs; which was not the case prior to construction of Olympic objects and factories. By the evening today, the electricity supply was restored.
