Zarema Musaeva interrogated within new criminal case
Law enforcers in Chechnya have interrogated Zarema Musaeva for the first time within a criminal case about attacking a prison colony employee; she is a suspect under this case.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 19, it became known that Musaeva had been transferred to the Grozny SIZO (pre-trial prison). She moves around on crutches.
Law enforcers interrogated Musaeva for the first time within the above new case, the "Team against Torture" (TaT)* has reported in its Telegram channel, citing Alexander Savin, an advocate.
According to investigators, she attacked a prison colony employee who accompanied her to the hospital for treatment.
On June 27, 2024, the Shali City Court rejected Musaeva's request for the conditional early relief (CER or parole) for the second time. The court has explained that she had failed to compensate for the damage within the fraud case and was placed under the prophylactic registration in the colony. On November 12, the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya returned Musaeva's CER motion to the above City Court for a new consideration.
*The "Team against Torture" (TaT, formerly the "Committee against Torture" – CaT) was created by the lawyers who had earlier worked for the CaT, which was included into the register of the NCOs performing the functions of foreign agents.
