Relatives of murdered supposed gunmen in Kabardino-Balkaria ask to give out their bodies for burial

Relatives of the men murdered during a special operation on August, 28 in Shogentsukov street in Nalchik and on July 25 in the settlement of Dugulubgey, Balsan district of the republic, have appealed to Kabardino-Balkarian Human Rights Center and the Ombudsman of Kabardino-Balkaria with a request to help them get their sons' corpses for burial.

It has already been reported that according to official information during a special operation in Nalchik which took place on August, 27-28, the staff of law enforcement bodies killed five supposed gunmen and during a special operation on July, 25 they murdered two. According to the investigation's version, the murdered men had been involved in grave and highly grave crimes including the explosion on May, 1, in Nalchik hippodrome, attack upon the personnel of law enforcement bodies and act of terror at Baksan hydro power.

In the applications of relatives of Anzor Tatarov, Aslan Lupezhev, Aliy Guziev (killed in Nalchik) and those of Rustam Seyunov and Ruslan Orshokdugov (killed in Dugulubgey) it was mentioned that the petitioners had already appealed to the investigative department asking to give out the corpses, however they have not received them up to now.

It was stated in the applications that retention of the corpses was illegal for "a special procedure… of burial is stipulated in case of death as a result of an accomplished act of terror exclusively". If a person's death occurs in any other circumstances these regulations are not applied, the dead men's relatives emphasized.

Valery Khatazhukov, leader of Non-governmental Human Rights Center said he had submitted appeals to the Head of Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria and Kabardino-Balkarian prosecutor suggesting them to solve the question of giving out the corpses.

"We consider that the corpses should be given out. The majority of the republic's population sticks to this opinion", Khatazhukov told a reporter of "Caucasian Knot". He thinks retention of the corpses is strengthening unrest and working in favor of the terrorists.

Let us recollect that the Municipal Court of Nalchik has formerly attained a verdict of giving out the corpse of Ruslan Odizev killed during a special operation in June, 2007. However, Ruslan's mother Nina Odizeva said the court's verdict was not executed, the corpse was not given out.
