ECtHR obliges Russia to pay 350,000 euros to residents of Chechnya

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has ruled that Russia shall pay out around 350,000 euros on the claims lodged by relatives of those Chechens who had disappeared or were tortured.

The "Interfax" reports with reference to the court decision promulgated today that monetary compensations were awarded to relatives of missing Khamzat Merzhoev and Ali Gastamirova, and of the pensioner from Chechnya Alaudin Sadykov, who was tortured in 2000.
