Friend of Suleimanova, who went missing in Chechnya, questioned within murder case

In Grozny, an investigator has interrogated Lena Patyaeva within the case of the murder of her friend Seda Suleimanova, who was taken away by her relatives from Saint Petersburg and stopped communicating.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has announced the start of an inquiry into a murder criminal case. The investigator in Chechnya has summoned Lena Patyaeva for questioning.

In February and March this year, in Saint Petersburg, Lena Patyaeva held rallies in support of Seda Suleimanova. Nothing has been known about her fate for 150 days, Lena has stated.

"On April 26, I went to Grozny for interrogation as a witness. Going there was my voluntary decision; no one put pressure on me. Initially, I was offered to undergo interrogation at my residence in Saint Petersburg. But I decided that it was important to go exactly to the region where Seda had disappeared and where the investigation is underway ... I did everything I could to help the investigation," Lena Patyaeva wrote in the "Where is Seda?" Telegram channel.

Let us remind you that in August 2023, Seda Suleimanova was detained in Saint Petersburg and taken to Chechnya. There were no messages from her for more than six months. Her friends and human rights defenders fear she could be the victim of an "honour killing".
