Adjaria imposes boycott on new parliamentary and pre-term presidential elections in Georgia

Adjaria imposes a boycott on new parliamentary and pre-term presidential elections in Georgia, one of the leaders of the parliamentary Revival Party Tsotne Bakuria told journalists on November 24. The Revival Party is led by Aslan Abashidze, head of the Adjarian Autonomous Republic. According to Mr. Bakuria, Adjaria also breaks all the ties with the center as it does not recognize the legitimacy of Acting Georgian President and Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Nino Burdjanadze.

To remind, the state of emergency has been introduced in Adjaria by Aslan Abashidze's order. All passenger railway traffic and air communication between Batumi and Tbilisi has been cut off since yesterday.
