Chechen refugees can hardly count on compensation payments

On October 28, 2003, a member of the Society for Russian-Chechen Friendship, along with a delegation of displaced persons who had been excluded from the Migration Service's computer data base, visited the Ingush Interior Ministry's Migration Service Department. There were those people among the refugees who had already submitted the documents obligatory for getting a compensation payment for lost dwelling. Deputy Head of the Ingush Migration Department Akhmed Parchiyev happened to be at his desk this time. However, he came out to the people and said he would not consider questions of those who were claiming to be restored in the Migration Service's lists. The Society's correspondent waited for his turn and entered the room to ask a question about compensation payments for IDPs from Chechnya. Answering what the IDPs from Chechnya whose turn for getting the payments had gone by long ago could wait for, Mr. Parchiyev said, "Nothing!".
