Adyg law-enforcement officials discuss migration problems

A migration situation in the Krasnogvardeysky district and measures to overcome negative tendencies in this field became the topic of the extended coordinating conference of Armenian law-enforcement officials which took place in the village of Krasnogvardeyskoye on December 25. Representatives of the municipal formations of Giaginsky, Teuchejsky and Takhtamukaisky districts where the same problems exist also took part in the meeting.

While opening the conference, Prosecutor of the Republic of Adygeya Mikhail Prikhlenko told that the main problem was the mass presence of Kurdish migrants in Adygeya. In the Krasnogvardeysky district, there are more than 3,000 of them, which makes 10% of all the district's population. 745 people of them are not registered and 292 do not have citizenship.

The problem is aggravated because the majority of Kurds do not pay taxes, avoid military service, and ignore veterinary, sanitary, fire-prevention and many other regulations, though they enjoy social guarantees like the other citizens.

The conference resulted in a resolution aimed at the regulation of migration processes in Adygeya.
