Six people killed in a special operation in Dagestan

Six supposed gunmen killed in a special operation in Makhachkala on August, 11, women among them, have been identified, National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) reported.

On August, 11, a special operation was recommenced in the suburbs of Makhachkala which started the day before during which a group of armed people was blocked in one of the private houses. CTO regime was enacted. After the end of an active stage of the special operation information of several killed supposed gunmen appeared.

According to NAC, Abdulla Magomedaliev born in 1977 under the alias of “Daud” involved in a number of resonance acts of terror, including the one in Buinaksk in September, 2010, and in Gubden this February, was among those identified, “Interfax” reports.

“Magomedaliev was involved in training a suicide bomber and organizing an act of terror in September, 2010, in a base of Inner troops of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Buinaksk, terror in the settlement of Gubden with the use of suicide bombers Khorosheva and Razdobudko, terrorist attack upon the frontier post in the settlement of Khunzah in spring of 2010”, RIA “Novosti” quotes a report of NAC.

The position of Magomedaliev’s relatives concerning the statements of NAC is unknown yet.

    Gays in Dagestan were in danger even before law enforcers held provocations and raids on them; and after the arrest of the gay blogger Matvei Volodin, threats have grown manifold. However, as noted by rights defenders, law enforcers have no real grounds to open cases against gays under the article on extremism.
