Girl's rape case in hospital of Budyonnovsk sent to court

The Prosecutor's Office has sent the criminal case against the person, accused of raping a nine-year girl at the hospital of the city of Budyonnovsk, to the Stavropol Territorial Court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on April 20, 2011, a nine-year-old girl was abducted from the ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) Ward of the Budyonnovsk District Hospital by some unknown person and raped. Soon, the suspect was detained. It was a certain Eugeniy Vorotyntsev, 23, a local, who had been earlier convicted for the same offence and released on parole from prison "for good behaviour" in August 2010.

According to the investigation, Vorotyntsev got through the window to the ENT Ward of the State Public Health Institution "Territorial Centre for Specialized Medical Care No. 1", where he met a nine-year girl, lured her into the men's toilet and raped her there.

According to prosecutors, Vorotyntsev is also accused of an attempted rape committed on October 19, 2010, when he tried to drag his victim to a deserted place; however, the latter managed to escape and run away.

As reported by the RIA "Novosti", a criminal case against him was initiated under Part 3, Article 30 and Part 1, Article 131, of the Criminal Code (attempted rape), and point "b" of Part 4, Article 131, of the Criminal Code (rape, committed against a person under 14). Vorotyntsev is under threat of up to 20 years in prison.

The "Interfax" reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Stavropol Territory that the criminal case was sent to the Stavropol Territorial Court for consideration on the merits.
