An Armenian serviceman killed in the zone of Karabakh conflict

This morning a nineteen-years-old soldier of Armed Forces of Armenia Aik Mkrtchyan was killed during his combat duty on the contact line of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

Press service of the Defense Army of Karabakh has not reported the details yet, is has only informed that the serviceman who died from a bullet wound was on duty in one of the units of the Eastern direction of Nagorno-Karabakh.

There are no comments on the accident from the Azerbaijani party yet.

This has not been the first case of loss of servicemen on the contact line during the last several months. Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on September, 1, a nineteen-years-old soldier of a military unit on the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan Mustafazade Farhad Vugar oglu got wounded. The Ministry of Defense blames the Armenian party for that.

On August, 21, a serviceman of the Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh Nver Sarkisyan and lieutenant of Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Akif Abdullaev got gunshot wounds as a result of violation of cease-fire regime for which both parties blamed each other.

In the morning of July, 29, a soldier of statutory service of Karabakh army Edward Alaverdyan was mortally wounded on the contact line of the troops of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh. On the same day a twenty-three-years-old lieutenant of Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Elshad Gasanali oglu Gasanov was wounded in his head and died.

It should be mentioned that military offices of Azerbaijani and Armenian parties occasionally blame each other for violation of cease-fire regime and emerging skirmishes. Monitoring undertaken by OSCE on the contact line reveals no violations, as a rule.

However, as noted by rights defenders, law enforcers have no real grounds to open cases against gays under the article on extremism.
