MCC finishes questioning defendants on Sviridov's murder case

The court session on the case of mass riots at night on December 6, 2010, in Kronstadt Boulevard in Moscow, when Yegor Sviridov, a fan of the "Spartak" FC, was killed, completed questioning of the defendants. According to defence lawyers, oral statements of the parties can be pronounced at the next session.

Today, the court interrogated the defendants Arthur Arsibiev and Khasan Ibragimov. Both defendants confirmed the testimony of the main defendant Aslan Cherkesov that he was shooting in self-defence. On September 28, Nariman Ismailov gave testimony at the court, then the defendant Akai Akaev was interrogated. On October 3 the court listened to the main defendant Aslan Cherkesov, who told the court that he decided to apply firearm, fearing that he could be "cut with (broken) bottle".

In the course of today's court, the sixth defendant Ramadan Utarbiev also gave his testimony. He said in the presence of the jury that "when he came out of the store with Cherkesov, he saw Gasparyan beating Ismailov and Akaev, so he struck Gasparyan in his head", and he himself "was hit in the head and the left kidney".

According to Utarbiev, during the brawl he was fighting with the young people, and heard the shots, and "at that time Cherkesov was near the car bonnet, beaten by two or three people, among whom Gasparyan was." According to Utarbiev, he and his friends began to leave the place of the fight in direction of the metro station "Vodny Stadion", when the shots were heard again. At the same time they were detained by policeman and brought to the police.

The next court session was appointed for tomorrow, October 5.
