Azerbaijan Diaspora accuses German Sterligov of sowing seeds of interethnic strife

The "Azerros" organization, which unites Azerbaijanians with Russian citizenship, addressed the Moscow Public Prosecutor's Office demanding that the former candidate for the post of the mayor of Moscow German Sterligov be called to account for sowing the seeds of interethnic strife.

The Azerbaijan Diaspora is displeased that the ex-owner of the Alisa stock exchange, the present president of a company that sells elite coffins based his election campaign on the fight against the Azerbaijanians. He blamed Luzhkov that "Moscow is full of Azerbaijanians and Chechens" and traffic jams happen because "azers" drive.

In case of his victory, the candidate promised to organize "the voluntary departure of all the Azerbaijanians and Chechens from Moscow" and to clean the capital from the disagreeable. The statement of claim by the Federal National Cultural Autonomy "Azerros" reads that such slogans and speeches call to sow the seeds of interethnic strife, which falls under Article 228 of the Russian Criminal Code specifying imprisonment as a punishment.
