In Chechnya, insane Ramzan Dadaev disappears

In the city of Grozny, a 25-year-old Ramzan Dadaev, a native of Chechnya, who suffers from mental disorders, has disappeared. This was reported by his relatives in the open letter, published by the "Caucasian Knot" under the news "Resident of Dagestan claims kidnapping of his father and his friend".

The letter states that in 1999, in the age of 13, Ramzan Dadaev with his parents left Grozny and arrived to a tent camp for refugees "Sputnik" in Ingushetia. In May 2003, when refugee camps were disbanded, his parents, fearing for his life, sent him to Lithuania. He resided in Lithuania up to 2007. From July 2007 to October 7, 2011, Ramzan Dadaev lived in Germany, where he was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

"On October 7 Ramzan Dadaev was deported from Germany to Russia. He phoned from the Domodedovo Airport to his relatives, asking for money for a ticket to Grozny. He failed to contact his relatives on the appointed day, since he was detained by policemen at the Domodedovo Airport, where he spent the night at the police station and, afterwards, he was released without incidents. In Moscow, he occasionally met a Chechen, who had bought him a ticket for the train Moscow-Grozny. The Chechen phoned us and said that on October 13 he accompanied Ramzan to the train. He was to arrive in Grozny on October 15," the statement says.

However, according to the relatives of Ramzan Dadaev, they failed to meet him in Grozny. "Our aunt phoned and told us in agitated voice that Ramzan failed to arrive and that their house was cordoned off by dozens of police cars. From a Chechen policeman we learned that they were looking for Ramzan. According to their story, they arrived to arrest him, arguing that Ramzan had allegedly come to Chechnya for fighting. We told the policemen that Ramzan left Chechnya when he was a minor child," the statement's authors write further.

The relatives of Ramzan Dadaev were informed that Ramzan was taken off the train at the first station in Grozny. According to their story, conductors and passengers of the train saw that. The Ramzan's relatives appealed to all authorities, and everywhere they were told that Ramzan was not there.

"We believe that Ramzan is already in the hands of the FSB, which prepares him for their regular, brutal action. We all know that this is not the first and not the last case, which occurs with Chechen people. Once again, we ask you to give publicity to our case to avoid something irretrievable," the statement emphasizes.

At present, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments from the law enforcement agencies of Chechnya about disappearance of Ramzan Dadaev.
