In the week from December 26 to January 1, armed conflict in Northern Caucasus took six human lives

At least six persons were lost and four more wounded over the past week, that is, from December 26 to January 1, in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The casualties are two policemen (one in Dagestan and one in Kabardino-Balkaria), three civilians in Dagestan (including one woman) and one civilian in Ingushetia. Two militants (both in Dagestan) and two civilians (in Kabardino-Balkaria) were wounded.

Five attacks on law enforcers and other power officials were committed – four in Dagestan and one in Kabardino-Balkaria. Two policemen were lost and two militants (one of them was detained) in Dagestan and two civilians – young children – were injured in the Kabardino-Balkaria.

In Dagestan, three civilians were lost – two men and one woman. Bodies of a family couple with gunshot wounds were found on December 29 in the village of Pervomaiskoye, Khasavyurt District of Dagestan. The murdered man was a folk healer. An inspector of the delivery division of the Russian Pension Fund for the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan was found murdered on December 30 in the outskirts of the village of Kokrek of the same district.

Occasional losses made one casualty: on December 27, in Ingushetia, one person died from an accidental bullet at the checkpoint at the entrance to Karabulak. Power agents attempted to stop the car of Ruslan Ozdoev, a 60-year-old resident of Ingushetia. The man did not obey to their repeated demands and was inadvertently killed during the pursuit and shooting at car tires.

At least nine persons were detained on suspicion of involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs) and for illegal possession of weapons: five in Chechnya, three in Kabardino-Balkaria and one in Dagestan.

Two civilians were kidnapped in Ingushetia by unidentified persons, namely, Evloev, Ababukar Musaevich and Bulguchev, Isa Ruslanovich.
