Ecologists state discharge of mazut into Sochi River

Today, ecologists have registered a fact of contamination of the Sochi River with mazut (fuel oil). An investigation into the incident has been launched.

The mazut spillage originated from the territory of the enterprise "Mostovik", near the construction site "More Molla", Semyon Simonov, an activist of the ecological movement of Sochi and a member of the Sochi Branch of the Russian Geographical Society, wrote in his "Twitter". He also posted a photo of the supposed place of mazut drainage into the river.

"The district policeman Grigoriy Akhvlediani has launched an inquiry on the fact of the mazut spillage into the Sochi River. Construction works have been suspended; and the developer has admitted his guilt," the activist reports.

So far, the bosses of the enterprise "Mostovik" have not commented the ecologist's information.
