Abkhazian party declared its readiness to continue peaceful negotiation process under aegis of UN

The Georgian-Abkhazian negotiation process was the main subject matter of the meeting between Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Georgia Heidi Tagliavini and Abkhazian Prime Minister Raul Khajimba and Abkhazian Foreign Minister Sergey Shamba. Journalists were not admitted to the meeting. However, after it, Ms. Tagliavini told them in her interview that the Abkhazian party had once again declared its readiness to continue the peaceful negotiation process under the aegis of the UN. A Georgian-Abkhazian meeting is to be held in Geneva in mid-February of 2004, Ms. Tagliavini announced. Participants also talked about the realization of economic projects in the towns of Gal, Tkuarchal, and Ochamchira with the financial support of the United Nations.
