Russian peacekeepers did not take part in skirmish in Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone
Servicemen of the CIS Peacekeeping Forces (PKF) in the zone of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict did not take part in the incident that occurred in the Tsalendjikha district at about 1:30 Moscow time on January 27. The Abkhazian side did not ask the Russian peacekeepers for help in connection with the incident. This was reported at the CIS PKF headquarters.
Four Georgian policemen were killed as a result of an attack by gunmen in the Tsalendjikha district last night. This district is under control of the Georgian side and is neighboring to the Gali district, which is under control of the Abkhazian side.
