Raid on Tangi-Chu village
Federal Troops servicemen raided on the village of Tangi-Chu, Chechnya's Urus-Martan district, on January 13. They rushed into houses, robbed and beat locals all night. As a result of the attack at the house of local teacher Alismat Djamaldinova, the women lost all her savings and a sizeable part of her belongings. The servicemen arbitrary detained several people, threatening them with firearms. Names of the detained people have not been reported. They were set free only at daybreak after officers of the Chechen police had interfered.
