Georgian leader suggests common Caucasus market, favorable investment climate for Russia
President Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia has come forward with an initiative to establish a common market in the Caucasus with Russia's participation. He said this market should include Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia.
At a meeting with Georgian businesspeople, Saakashvili observed the first thing foreign investors took interest in was what relations Georgia had with Russia. "Stereotypes in relations with Russia should be changed," he emphasized, "and a favorable investment climate should be created in Georgia for Russia."
