Chekurishvili: return of Georgian products to Russian market will begin with honey

The return of Georgian products to the Russian market will start with honey – the shipments thereof will start immediately after the May holidays, said Zurab Chekurishvili, the head of the Georgia's "National Foodstuff Agency".

According to his story, exports of vegetables and fruits will begin after honey; and in the fall they will be followed by citrus crops, the "Georgia Online" reports today.

Georgia is also ready to resume wine exports. Currently, producers wait to receive excise stamps from Russia; after which they will start exporting their beverages, said Levan Davitashvili, the head of the "National Wine Agency".

According to his, the excise stamps are expected in May. According to Mr Davitashvili's forecast, within the first year Georgia can deliver from 8 to 10 million bottles. This is four times less than before the introduction of the embargo, the RBC (RosBusinessConsulting) reports.
