Dagestani MIA: there was no marauding committed by power agents in Gimry

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan has refuted the information that in the course of the special operation conducted in the village of Gimry, Untsukul District of Dagestan power agents were looting the village. So far, there is no reliable information on whether the local residents had suffered from the marauding, said the spokesman of the MIA.

In the course of the special operation, several houses in the village were blown up; power agents reported that improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found there.

Gimry residents believe that militaries could blow up the houses, which had been just looted, or where the property had been destroyed.

According to the spokesman of the MIA of Dagestan, "there was nothing like this": "Local people feel now a lot of discomfort; so they express their discontent. They are angry that they are pressed. But, on the other hand, is it normal that people gave shelter to bandits and shoot in the back of power agents, who carry out operative actions?" the "Russian News Service" quotes the spokesman of the MIA of Dagestan cites.

The source from the local MIA has also noted that so far there is no reliable information on whether the villagers had suffered any damage. "The investigatory authorities will check whether the villagers' claims had been justified. The decision on compensation of damage will be made by the government of the republic", said the MIA spokesman.

Earlier, residents of Gimry had stated that many houses in Gimry were destroyed and damaged.
