In USA, Worcester police ask authorities to repay expenses for guarding Tamerlan Tsarnaev's body

The Police Department of the city of Worcester has stated that the state is to repay the expenses in the amount of 47,171 US dollars for the protection of the funeral home "Graham, Putnam and Mahoney", where the body of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, suspected of committing the terror act in Boston, was stored.

According to the police's statement, the expenses include the overtime working of police officers and day-and-night lighting of the funeral home in the period of May 3-9, when the body of Tamerlan Tsarnaev was in the morgue.

"Steve Sargent, Deputy Police Chief, coordinated efforts to ensure security as the chief of operation department," the Police Department has noted.

The Worcester policemen treat those expenses as being outside the duties of the local law enforcers and are ready to consider all the possibilities for their repayment by the state, the website of the City Police Department reports.
