In Armenia, regular soldier detained on suspicion of killing his colleague

Soldier David Khachatryan was detained on suspicion of that by shooting of a weapon assigned to him he killed his colleague. The incident also affected one more regular soldier, who was hospitalized, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reports.

According to the MoD's information, on March 15, at about 03:30 p.m., David Khachatryan, a soldier of one of the units of the city of Noyemberyan of the Tavush Region of Armenia, opened fire from a modernized Kalashnikov submachine gun.

His colleague, Soldier Lux Stepanyan, was wounded in his head and died in place. Soldier Grachya Sargsyan was also wounded in his head, and he was brought to the resuscitation ward of the Central Clinical Military Hospital. This was reported by the IA "News-Armenia" with reference to the MoD of Armenia.

David Khachatryan was detained and arrested, and the law enforcement bodies conduct the preliminary investigation. A criminal case was initiated on the fact of murder committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many people (Paragraph 6 of Part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia), the "News.am" reports.
