CTO regime introduced in Elbrus District of Kabardino-Balkaria

A part of the Elbrus District of Kabardino-Balkaria is under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, a source from the republic's operative headquarters has reported.

The special legal regime was introduced from 3:40 p.m. Moscow time by decision of the head of the republic's FSB, the "Interfax" reports.

The CTO regime is introduced within the Kara-Tobe and Djerklikol Stows, and Highway A158, with the exception of the village of Bedyk.

According to power agents, a grouping of militants is hiding within the CTO area, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
