In Volgograd, 15 people demand from media to cover positive trends in Russia
On May 18, in Lenin Square of Volgograd, 15 people held a protest "against false media."
The rally was organized by the regional office of the party "Svobodnaya Rossiya" (Free Russia) and was coordinated with the authorities; the crowd of 100 people was applied for, its organizer Artyom Andreev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The rally was attended by 15 people, who held posters reading: "Media distort the truth!" and "Let's restore sovereignty!", a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin and flags in the form of St George ribbons. The regional office of the "Trade Union of Russian Citizens" has supported the action.
The rally was the first action of the "Free Russia" in Volgograd, said Artyom Andreev. "Media are almost ignoring the fact that in 1991 our country actually lost the Cold War; which resulted in a split of the country into 15 parts and degradation of industry. We support the policies of Putin, who has done everything to strengthen our sovereignty," said Andreev.
He also noted that "media completely fail to cover positive trends in development of the country." "Our party treats global foreign media and many federal ones as false," he said, stressing that "the notion of mendacity does not refer to regional media."
The rally was watched by policemen; it passed without incidents, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
