Azerbaijani writer Khalida Khalid and her assistant released in Iran
The citizen of Azerbaijan, a writer Khalida Khalid and her assistant Shamkhal Guseinov have been Release from detention in Iran, said Mohsen Pakayin, the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 30 Khalida Khalid was detained in the city of Tabriz in Northern Iran, along with four other activists of the movement for the rights of the Azerbaijanis of the Southern (Iranian) Azerbaijan.
According to the Ambassador of Iran, both citizens of Azerbaijan were released in the morning on May 19, the "APA" reports.
"In the next few days, Khalida Khalid and her assistant will be sent to Azerbaijan," the "Trend" quotes Ambassador Pakayin as saying.
Khalida Khalid and Guseinov were released during the ongoing visit to Iran of Sheikh-ul-Islam Allakhshukyur Pashazade, the Chairman of the Administration of Caucasian Muslims, the IA "News-Azerbaijan" reports.
