In Sochi, ecologist Vladimir Kimaev reports on searching his apartment and summer cottage
Vladimir Kimaev, a member of the Board of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus", the leader of the Sochi Branch of the "Yabloko" Party, has reported on the searches that were held today in his apartment and at the summer cottage. Law enforcement agents were carrying out the searches starting from 04:00 p.m. till 05:00 p.m. Moscow time, the ecologist reports.
Vladimir Kimaev states that the policemen were searching for evidence of his involvement in the explosion on the gas pipeline. According to the ecologist's story, the search was carried out by about 10 operative staff members of the Khosta OVD (Interior Division) and of the Moscow Region.
"I believe those searches are the result of my ecological and political activities," Vladimir Kim stated in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot". Both searches were conducted in the absence of Vladimir Kimaev, and the ecologist was informed about the current searches by his son Anton.
Anton Kimaev, the ecologist's son, states that the policemen found nothing forbidden during the searches in the apartment, and the appropriate resolution was issued about that.
Kirill Kimaev, the other son of the ecologist, reported that the search was also carried out at the summer cottage of the ecologist. According to his story, one of the policemen presented himself as a staff member from the Moscow Region, from the municipality "Bereznyaki".
The search at the apartment located in the residential neighbourhood of Maly Akhun was led by Colonel of the Sochi UVD (Interior Department). The policemen demanded to let them into the apartment to find the "prohibited items". This was reported today by the official website of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus".
In his turn, Alexander Bondarev, Chief of the Khosta OVD, categorically denied the information that the searches at the apartment and summer cottage of the ecologist had been carried out by his staff members. "I do not know who they were. Perhaps, they were policemen to combat drug trafficking. They have similar functions," Alexander Bondarev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Representatives of the Federal Drug Control Service for the city of Sochi and of the press service of the local UVD also stated that they were not aware about the searches at the ecologist's apartment and summer cottage.
