They are charged of organizing mass riots accompanied by violence and pogroms. Both defendants deny their involvement in the riots in Ismailly. On May 15, the Court extended the detention in custody of Ilgar Mamedov and Tofiq Yagublu.
Advocates of Ilgar Mamedov and Tofiq Yagublu have stated that the decision on the extension of arrest was "ordered and politically motivated".
The consideration of the appeal was held at the court session chaired by Judge Djamal Ramzanov, the edition "azeri.ru" reports.
The Judge ignored the defence's arguments of the unreasonableness of the extension of arrest and upheld the decision of the Nasimi District Court of May 15. This was reported by the edition "contact.az" with reference to advocate Fuad Agaev.
