Today, Iskender Gamidov, former Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, was released from the police after he had given evidence in the case of a rally held in the village of Novkhany.

Iskender Gamidov was released today at about 06:20 p.m. (05:20 Moscow time). According to his story, at the police station, he was asked questions related to his speech delivered on May 28 at the rally on the occasion of the Day of Republic, after which Mustafa Gadjibeili, an advisor to the leader of the "Musavat" Party was also detained. At the rally, Iskender Gamidov called for "decisive actions" against the authorities.
After his release, Iskender Gamidov arrived at the headquarters of the "Musavat" Party. Meanwhile, he does not know at what the police station he had been questioned, the website of the newspaper "Musavat" reports today.
According to the Iskender Gamidov's story, during his detention, he was blindfolded and taken away. The blindfold was taken off at the police station, and after questioning, he was blindfolded again, the "RAPSI" (Russian Agency of Legal and Judicial Information) reports.
