In Georgia, former deputy head of military police detained
Today, Malkhaz Bokhua, the former deputy head of the military police of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Georgia, was detained on charges of embezzling budget funds on a large scale. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defence.
According to the information of the MoD's press service, Colonel Malkhaz Bokhua was detained on the results of joint investigation conducted by the Chief Directorate of the Department of Military Police and the Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.
"Malkhaz Bokhua is accused of embezzling funds allocated on a large scale for secret services of the military police of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia more than 500,000 laris (about 300,000 US dollars) in the period starting from January till August 2012," the "Georgia-Online" quotes today the report of the Georgian MoD as stating.
According to the MoD's information, Malkhaz Bokhua committed the unlawful act with the use of his official position, being in conspiracy with a group of people, the "Ekho Kavkaza" (Echo of the Caucasus) reports.
