Attorney of a builder beaten up in Sochi reports inaction of law enforcement bodies
A criminal case of beating up builder Mardiros Demerchyan in a police department of Sochi has not yet been initiated.
It should be reminded that on June, 13, Mardiros Demerchyan was taken from the police department of the settlement of Blinovo to the neuro-surgical unit of Municipal hospital No 4. He was beaten by the police personnel, the builder’s wife Lyudmila Demerchyan stated. Mardiros Demerchyan himself said in his interview to the “Caucasian Knot” that he underwent torture from the police personnel.
“Five policemen tortured me demanding confession for larceny from an Olympic object which I had not committed”, Mardiros Demerchyan said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
According to the builder’s attorney, Alexander Boichenko, he cannot receive a determination of refusal to start criminal proceedings from the investigation.
“The idea of obvious covering up a crime emerges from that”, the builder’s attorney says. He explained that he had already submitted claims to Committee of Inquiry of Russia, Prosecutor General’s, the Ministry of Interior Affairs and Federal Security Service.
