Businessmen in Rostov Region dissatisfied at police officers' illegal actions
Businessmen in Rostov Region are dissatisfied at illegal actions of police officers. The Minister of Economy of Rostov Region, Viktor Deryabkin, announced it at a joint conference of the regional Small Business Council and the Interdepartmental Committee on Overcoming Bureaucratic Barriers to Entrepreneurship.
The authorities conducted a poll among businessmen and found out that officers of the economic crimes department, not to mention ordinary policemen, often run illegal checks and practiced blackmail.
Officers of the Rostov public security police department, who were invited to the conference, assured businessmen themselves often broke the law. Thus, 1,902 crimes in the field of the consumer market have been registered in the region only in 2004.
However, imperfect legislation itself "helps" businessmen break the law. In view of it, the regional governor issued a decree at the beginning of 2004 concerning the public examination of regional normative legal documents regulating small business development. The list of such documents has been made up. Some regional tax laws are among those in the list.
