Early in the morning of March 25, a Russian bomb squad was in the village of Gordali, Chechnya's Gudermes district, trying to neutralize a land mine when it suddenly exploded. Two soldiers were badly injured and remain in serious condition.
Later in the morning, members of the security forces of Chechnya's leader Akhmad Kadyrov arrested two young men from the Koshkeldy village in the Gudermes district. The men, who served in one of the local units led by their fellow villager known as "Bismarck" and protected oil facilities, are accused of having ties to the guerrillas.
