Attack on participants in antiwar picket in Izhevsk
At 3 p.m. on February 23, anarchists, antimilitarists and activists of the Ataka (Attack) movement held an unauthorized picket against the war in Chechnya on the central square of Izhevsk, opposite to the building of the Government of Udmurtia. The picket lasted for about half an hour. 10 people unrolled posters "Another 4 years of war if Putin is reelected?", "The Chechen war is bloody PR", "The army is a school of slavery", "The power lies, and the war goes on."
The media was represented at the action by the only local journalist. Participants scanned antiwar slogans.
After the picketers had rolled up their posters, some 30 people of the local branch of the Fascist organization Party of Freedom attacked and beat two of them.
