Abkhazia's GPO suspects local MP of killing Russian businessman

The General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Abkhazia has asked the Republic's Supreme Court to consider the presence of crime attributes in the actions of the local parliamentarian Nodik Kvitsiniya, suspected of intentional killing of Sergey Klemantovich and Oksana Skarednova.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Sergey Klemantovich, Director General of the "EL-Petroleum-Abkhazia" Company, disappeared in autumn of 2012, along with his girlfriend Oksana Skarednova under mysterious circumstances. On October 14, the bodies of Klemantovich and Skarednova were found in the Abkhaz village of Adzyubzha in the Ochamchira District. Currently, the Sukhumi City Court has decided to arrest four suspects of the murder.

The General Public Prosecutor Safire Miranda has brought a presentation to the Supreme Court of Abkhazia asking to give a conclusion on the presence in the actions of the MP Nodik Kvitsiniya of crime attributes envisioned by several points of a number of articles of the Criminal Code.

Let us remind you that on September 9, in Sukhumi, the vice-consul Dmitry Vishernev, the first secretary of the Embassy of Russia to Abkhazia, was shot dead. Vishernev had been unofficially searching for Klemantovich, which, according to investigators, could be one of the reasons for his murder.
