Three explosive assemblies of high capacity found in Chechnya's Achkhoy-Martan district
3 self-made landmines were found by officers of law-enforcement agencies in the village of Samashki, Chechnya's Achkhoy-Martan district, on April 4.
The "infernal machines" were found in a tumbledown private house, a source at the republican interior ministry said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent. The capacity of each of the explosive assemblies was about 40 kilograms of trotyl equivalent, the source said. "According to our information, these self-made explosive assemblies were made by rebels belonging to the band of Chechen field commander Dokku Umarov," he added.
Several people have been detained on suspicion of their complicity in the making of the landmines, the interior ministry's officer said.
