Revival Party postpones peace march to Tbilisi

The Georgian Revival Party, led by Adjaria's leader Aslan Abashidze, has postponed the idea of holding a peace march from the capital of Adjaria Batumi to Tbilisi, a member of the Revival Party reported earlier on Monday, April 12.

According to Tsotne Bakuriya, "it is very dangerous to stage such an action at the present moment." "The center's stance on Adjaria is aggressive," he stressed. "In case of an inadequate reaction from Tbilisi, the peace march may have any ending," Bakuriya emphasized. "We don't want to have common people suffer from that," he added.

The idea of holding a peace march was first voiced by the party after the Georgian parliamentary election. The centre stated then, that it would not impede the action if the march was a peaceful one.
