Six activists of "EcoWatch" detained in Krasnodar

In Krasnodar, on February 3, on the eve of the welcoming ceremony of the Olympic Flame, six activists of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch) were detained.

At about 10:45 p.m., near the village of Novotitarovskaya, not far from Krasnodar, a car was stopped carrying the activists Igor Kharchenko and Olga Soldatova. Initially, according to the activists, they were told that they had violated traffic rules, but then they were warned about certain orientation messages and taken to the Dinskoy ROVD (District Interior Division). Four other activists tried to go there to see their colleagues, but they were also detained at the exit from Krasnodar. Policemen took away all the documents from the members of the "EcoWatch".

All the detained activists were released from the police at night on February 4. No protocols we drawn up and no charges were moved. In this regard, activists believe that their detention was illegal, the website of the "EcoWatch" reports.

The report notes that FSB agents tried to clear out, in conversation with Alexei Mandrigelya, whether they had planned any action during the Olympic Torch Relay in Krasnodar.
