Armenian politicians discuss situation in country

The Armenian National Press Club has arranged a round table discussion devoted to the internal political situation in the country in the aftermath of the dispersal of an opposition demonstration. Representatives of various political forces took part in it, in particular the Armenian-Aryan Order, Armenian National Movement, Christian Democratic Party, National Democratic Party and others. "A corridor is left even during military operations so that people can leave, but on April 13 the people were encircled on all sides," said Erdzhanik Abgarian, board member of the Armenian National Movement. He called the developments on Bagramian Avenue on the night of April 12-13 a crime. Chairman of the Armenian Christian Democratic Party Khosrov Arutyunian said that the head of state must dissolve the National Assembly and take on responsibility for the holding of fair elections and the opposition must remove the question of impeachment from the agenda in response. This question should be brought up again only in case the president does not secure the fair elections. Arshak Sadoian, National Assembly deputy and chairman of the National Democratic Union, said the started national movement should be continued since this is the only possible way to achieve the change of power.
