Court satisfies claim by victim of 2002 hostage taking in Moscow
The Tverskoy Court of Moscow has partially satisfied a claim by a victim of the Dubrovka theatre siege in Moscow. The court decided to exact money demanded by the plaintiff, Lyudmila Aleksandrova, from the Moscow Finance Department. The latter is obliged to pay out a one time grant at the rate of 13.5 thousand rubles to the woman and to pay lifelong monthly compensation at the rate of 750 rubles. At the same time, the court has not satisfied that part of the claim in which the plaintiff demanded $500 thousand in compensation for moral damage. It means that the Tverskoy Court seconds the position of the Moscow government, which holds the city authorities do not have to indemnify for inflicted moral damage. Lyudmila Aleksandrova lost her son as a result of the terrorist act. He was her breadwinner.
