Parliamentary elections in Georgia declared valid

The parliamentary elections in Georgia can be declared valid, chairman of the republic's Central Election Commission Zurab Chiaberashvili told a press conference in Tbilisi on Election Day, March 28.

"1,158,729 people voted by 16:00. Altogether 2,266 thousand voters are registered in the commission's voter lists," Zurab Chiaberashvili said.

In conformity with the law on the elections, elections are declared valid if one third of voters took part in the voting.
