In Volgograd, regular soldier found hanged
In Volgograd, a regular soldier has been found hanged after he was sentenced to serving at a penal battalion. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies and colleagues of the deceased soldier.
On September 1, the body of the young man called to the army from the Saratov Region was found in an abandoned canteen building in the territory of the military unit No. 11384/3.
The soldier hanged himself several hours after he had been sentenced on charges of assault related to robbery, stated the source from the law enforcement bodies. According to the source, the young man was sentenced to 1.5 years of punishment, the "Vysota 102.0" reports.
According to his colleagues, the deceased soldier had many friends in the military unit and never started quarrels. They have suggested that the soldier hanged himself, since he was afraid to tell his parents about the punishment, the "Bloknot" reports.
The Investigating Department (ID) for the Volgograd Region of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) conducts the pre-investigation into the incident, the "Krivoe Zerkalo" reports.
