Workers, who reconstructed stadium, suspected of implication in Kadyrov's assassination

The bomb that killed head of Chechnya Akhmat Kadyrov and several other people on May 9 may have been mounted by workers who engaged in the reconstruction of the Dinamo stadium in Grozny.

"According to experts, the explosive device was set into the central stand of the Dinamo stadium in the summer of 2003, when a serious reconstruction was done there. Only a man who worked directly at the place, that is to say, one of the workers was able to mount the bomb," a source at the Chechen interior ministry said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent.

It is early to name any exact people who ordered this crime, he added. "In my opinion, if to take into consideration the fact that Akhmat Hajji Kadyrov's presence at the Dinamo stadium was not expected (he was to be at a military parade at the Severny airport in the vicinity of Grozny), it cannot be claimed with confidence that this terrorist act was aimed directly against him. Investigation is to find answers to all existing questions," he said.
