Nalchik holds ecological action "Day of Green Culture"
In Nalchik, more than 100 people attended the ecological action held at the intersection of Tarchokov and Theatre Streets. The participants of the ecological action planted 500 chestnut and other trees, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The ecological action was attended by participants of the online community "Republic is a common cause."
Lydia Tlizamova, the Chair of the "Ambra" Culture Support Foundation, has emphasized that the idea of the action was to draw people's attention to urban life. "Each of us has nostalgia feeling for the period of time when Nalchik used to be a clean, beautiful and unique city. At present, the city has lost its identity a little. That's why we got the idea to plant trees and thus change the city," Lydia Tlizamova has noted.
According to Murat Shalbarov, a participant of the action, "the public of the city of Nalchik needs events to consolidate citizens' activities and give them the opportunity to perceive that they represent a civil society."
Zera Bakova, Professor of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU), who takes part in all the events organized by the NGO "Republic is a common cause," has stressed the importance of the Internet, which brings together strangers and forms a community to perform good deeds.
