Court dealing with case of Imangazali Magomedov in Dagestan rejects several defence's motions
The court that running the trial of Imangazali Magomedov, a resident of the village of Shaumyan, who is accused of aiding militants and illegal possession of firearms and drugs, has rejected the earlier motions of the defence, including the one demanding to study the three criminal cases, where the same witnesses had been questioned as in the present case. The next court session is scheduled for December 22.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomedov was detained on June 2, after his and his mother's houses were searched, and firearms were found in both of them. After visiting Magomedov at the temporary detention facility (known as IVS) in Kizlyar, his advocate Elena Denisenko said that her client was beaten up.
The defendant has confessed only of illegal storing firearms.
According to Elena Denisenko, on December 17, she received an answer about the completion of the executive check of her complaint, where she demanded to check the beating of her client and to institute criminal proceedings against the IVS employees who had used force.
Let us remind you that the first complaint was filed on June 5, where the advocate asked to check the beating of her client, appoint a forensic examination and to initiate criminal proceedings against policemen of the Kizlyar ROVD (District Interior Division). According to Denisenko, at a time when her client was beaten, he had incriminated himself. However, the opening of the case was rejected.
