US Attorney Office is against postponing Tsarnaev's trial
The Attorney Office of the United States has disagreed with the petition lodged by the advocates of the ethnic Chechen Johar Tsarnaev, who is accused of organizing the terror act at the Boston Marathon, to postpone the trial until September 2015.
According to investigators, Johar Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan, who was killed at detention, organized a terror act during the Boston Marathon Run in April 15, 2013. Then, the explosion triggered by them killed three people and injured 282.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the defence of Tsarnaev petitioned to postpone the process, scheduled for January 5, to September 2015, under the motive that the advocates have to study pretty plenty materials received from the prosecution and find it difficult to figure out the details of Tsarnaev's life outside the United States.
In response to the advocates' request to postpone the trial, the Attorney Office said that most of the materials had been provided at the defence's own request, the TASS reports.
"Tsarnaev has no reason to complain about the receipt of the information that he had requested himself; and the government was not obliged to present the materials before," the "Interfax" reports quoting the AP.
The date of passing the decision on the defence petition is still unknown.
